Child Behavioral Health Services (DCBHS), a Division of New Jersey's Department of Children and Families, serves children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral challenges and their families. DCBHS is committed to providing these services based on the needs of the child and family in a family-centered, team driven, community-based environment. DCBHS is committed to involving families in all aspects of the planning and treatment process to ensure a System of Care that is family-friendly and culturally competent.
PerformCare serves as the statewide contracted system administrator for the Division of Child Behavioral Health Services. Through PerformCare, DCBHS provides families with a single point of contact that registers, tracks and coordinates care for children involved with the System of Care. PerformCare serves as the administrative hub of the System Of Care and performs a range of system management, technical support and quality improvement functions essential to organizing, operating and monitoring the system.

Care management organizations (CMO) are private, non-profits that coordinate a full range of treatment and support services for children with the most complex needs. Using the Wraparound Model, they work with child-family teams to develop individualized service plans. The CMO's goals are to keep children in their homes, their schools and their communities. The Children's Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) provides on-site mobile crisis assessment to Hunterdon, Somerset and Warren Counties children and youth between the ages of 5 through 18 who are in an active state of crisis or escalating crisis, 24 hours a day - 7 days a week. It is designed for children whose behavior is putting them at risk. MRSS also provides short-term, flexible services to assist with stabilizing children in their current living arrangement. Creating a comprehensive, coordinated Individual Crisis Plan with the family, crisis stabilization is provided and monitored for up to 8 weeks.
